Circle Spy

Everyone wants to be the most popular person in The Circle – and the players will find out exactly how popular they are in the regular ‘ratings’ ceremonies.

Each player must rank all others in order of preference, with their favourite in 1st place. They can base their choices on personal feelings, or play tactically to stand a better chance at surviving. The Circle calculates overall rankings from the players’ submissions; the two or more who rank highest are named ‘Influencers’ and given the power to decide which of the ‘At Risk’ players to ‘block’ and eliminate from the show. Occasionally, there may be twists in the game.

Notes

Where multiple players are listed in a merged cell, all of those players ranked jointly in the highest position the cell applies to. For instance, if a cell is merged across the 3rd and 4th place rows, the two names listed in that cell ranked in joint 3rd place.

• Round 1: Players had to rate each other after their first chat. In a twist, highest rating player James became the sole Influencer, and had to immediately block someone else. He blocked Yolanda, who was then given the chance to stay in the game by ‘cloning’ another player; she chose to clone Tally.
• Round 2: As part of the clone twist, Tally and Yolanda were immune from being blocked in this round, although they still participated in the ratings.
• Round 3: After Jamie and Millie’s exit, The Circle revealed that both Tallys would face the next blocking. There were no ratings; instead, all other players had to cast a vote to block either Blue Tally (real Tally) or Orange Tally (Yolanda).
• Round 4: As the only player who didn’t receive a reward in the ‘Sharing is Caring’ game, James was told that as punishment, he had to become ‘The Assassin’ and get another player blocked in this round. If he failed this task, he himself would be blocked. He chose to target Billy, who was eventually blocked. As new players, Natalya and Scott were immune from being targeted or blocked, although they still participated in the ratings.
• Round 5: As a reward for succeeding as The Assassin, James was immune being blocked in this round, although he was still able to participate in ratings. Only the bottom two rated players, Scott and Tally, were put at risk. The other players then voted to decide ‘The Blocker’, who would have the sole power over the blocking; Andy was eventually named The Blocker, and he chose Tally to leave. The full results of the ratings for this round were not revealed.
• Round 6: As new players, Joey and Pippa were immune from being blocked in this round. However, in a twist, they were given the power to jointly decide one of the influencers. They chose Manrika, who accordingly also became immune. Therefore, only the highest-rating player also became an influencer.
• Round 8: This round featured three twists. First, influencers Natalya and Scott were given the chance to block each other; neither accepted. Then, a double blocking took place; the influencers each chose one player to block, without any discussion. They blocked Pippa and Joey, who in the third twist were given another chance in the game under a joint catfish profile, playing a priest named Tom.
• Round 9: As ‘new’ players, Joey and Pippa (as Tom) and Shabaz were immune from being blocked in this round, although they still participated in the ratings.
